An Overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction.  The Overdraft fee of $36 is the same whether the bank pays the item (Overdraft Item Paid) or returns the item (Overdraft Item Returned).  Returned items may be presented for payment multiple times from the bank who is trying to collect the funds, which may result in multiple Overdraft Item Returned Fees on your account at First Colorado National Bank.  A notice will be mailed to notify you of items paid or returned.  This notice is sent after the bank pays or returns the item.  First Colorado National Bank will limit the number of Overdraft Fees assessed to five (5) per account per day. Any item that creates a total overdrawn balance of less than $5.00 in an account shall not be assessed a fee.  Customers are encouraged to keep enough money in their accounts to cover transactions and to avoid Overdraft Fees.  Customers can also link another deposit account or line of credit to an account to cover incidental overdrafts.  To learn more, ask us about this option.

First Colorado National Bank uses its own discretion when it comes to paying or returning checks, recurring bill payments, or any item that overdrafts an account.  The bank may not pay an overdraft item even if the bank previously paid a similar item.  If the bank decides to return a check you wrote or declines a recurring bill payment because of a lack of funds, the bank who is trying to collect the funds may represent the item again.  If your account still does not have the funds to cover the item, another Overdraft Returned Item Fee may be assessed.  Keep in mind that both the overdrawn amount and the Overdraft Fee(s) must be paid before your account will show a positive balance.

Each of our locations have a ATM you can use without paying a fee–when you use your First Colorado National Bank debit card.

If you are away from our locations, FCNB is proud to participate in the MoneyPass ATM network. Our customers can use any ATM in the MoneyPass network surcharge free! Find a MoneyPass ATM near you.
